Pablo Heras-Casado will conduct the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana in a special concert to honor the victims of the floods that occurred earlier this year.

The performance, scheduled for December 10, 2024, will include Beethoven’s Third Symphony and "Egmont Overture." It will also feature the Schola Cantorum d’Algemesí, who will begin the event with a series of a cappella pieces.

Reports indicate that the devastating flash floods in Valencia claimed the lives of at least 223 people. Authorities noted that roads were destroyed in some areas, preventing emergency responders from reaching affected locations. The disaster has caused widespread anger among Valencians, who are upset with both the government's response and the lack of warnings prior to the flood.

All funds raised from the concert will be donated to the rebuilding and repair efforts for the damage caused by the floods.
