It has been announced that Albena Danailova, a humble and unassuming violinist who is part of the quartet that takes turns occupying the first seat in the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, will serve as the concertmaster for the upcoming New Year's Day concert. The renowned conductor Christian Thielemann will be leading the orchestra.

At the age of 48, Albena has agreed to participate in her inaugural significant media interview. Her inclusion in the Vienna Philharmonic in 2011 marked a shift for the traditionally male-dominated ensemble, as the orchestra now boasts 24 female members.
