The New York Choral Society will present "Voices of Light" by Richard Einhorn. The concert is scheduled for November 1, 2024, at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center and will feature a screening of the silent film "The Passion of Joan of Arc." The evening will showcase over 170 voices from the New York Choral Society, the Mannes Orchestra, and acclaimed soloists, The Polyphonists. This performance marks the kickoff of their season titled "She Sings: A Season of Extraordinary Women."

"Voices of Light" is an oratorio inspired by "The Passion of Joan of Arc," utilizing a libretto based on ancient writings, mainly from medieval female mystics. The film is regarded as a cinematic masterpiece, offering an immersive visual experience. Music Director David Hayes stated that bringing together over 170 voices with the orchestra and the evocative story of Joan of Arc presents a unique challenge and joy, highlighting the dynamism of live choral music and enriching our understanding of historical narratives through powerful artistic expression.
