The Fondazione Teatro di Pisa has appointed Marco Tutino as its new Artistic Director, effective from the 2026-27 season.
The announcement was made on November 26, 2024, with Tutino emerging as the top choice from over 50 candidates.

He will bring an international perspective and will apply his exceptional expertise, developed over many years in Italy’s leading theaters. We are thrilled to have him with us and are confident he will enhance the creative and cultural offerings of our city.”
Born in Milan, Tutino studied at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan. He has previously held roles as Artistic Director of Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano, Teatro Regio di Torino, and Superintendent of Teatro Comunale di Bologna. He has also worked as Artistic Consultant and Composer-in-Residence at the Fondazione Arena di Verona. Additionally, he is the founder of the School of Italian Opera.
