The Metropolitan Opera will kick off its 2026-27 season with Verdi’s "Macbeth."

According to a statement from the Met to the Associated Press, soprano Lisa Davidsen will star in the production of "Macbeth" on September 22, 2026, with Yannick Nézet-Séguin as the conductor.

This role is just one of several that Davidsen will perform at the Met in the upcoming seasons. The opera house also revealed that she will take on the role of Isolde in "Tristan und Isolde" during the 2025-26 season, starting on March 9, 2026. Additionally, Davidsen will portray Brünnhilde in a new production directed by Yuval Sharon.

Nézet-Séguin expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “I’m thrilled that Lisa Davidsen has chosen the Met as her preferred venue.”

Davidsen herself shared her excitement, stating, “I’m both delighted and grateful to collaborate with the fantastic team at The Met, one of my favorite opera houses. I’m sure that performing these roles for the Met’s incredibly supportive audiences will be an exhilarating and memorable experience.”

This season, Davidsen will also perform as Tosca and Leonore in "Fidelio."
