The London Symphony Orchestra has officially unveiled its 2025–26 season tour, spotlighting an array of vocal masterpieces. Below is a selection focused exclusively on programs featuring vocal soloists and choral works.
Renowned tenor Ian Bostridge will be featured in a program titled “Britten, Vaughan Williams & Elgar,” with esteemed conductor Sir Antonio Pappano leading the performance. This concert is scheduled for August 13, 2025, and will take place during the Edinburgh International Festival.
The following evening, on August 14, 2025, also as part of the Edinburgh International Festival, soprano Natalya Romaniw and baritone Will Liverman will take center stage in Vaughan Williams’s “A Sea Symphony.” They will be accompanied by the Edinburgh Festival Chorus, with Sir Antonio Pappano once again on the podium.
Puccini’s poignant opera “Suor Angelica” will be presented shortly after, with the performance set for August 16, 2025, continuing the London Symphony Orchestra’s presence at the Edinburgh International Festival.
Looking ahead to the spring of 2026, soprano Lucy Crowe will deliver Richard Strauss’s “Four Last Songs.” These performances, under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle, are scheduled for May 31 and June 1, 2026, in Paris and Luxembourg respectively.
