San Francisco Opera to Stage Mozart’s “Idomeneo” in June 2025

From June 14 to June 25, 2025, the San Francisco Opera will showcase Mozart’s “Idomeneo,” conducted by Caroline H. Hume Music Director Eun Sun Kim, in a production directed by Lindy Hume.

The cast features American tenor Matthew Polenzani as Idomeneo, with Daniela Mack performing as Idamante, Ying Fang as Ilia, Elza van den Heever as Elettra, and Alek Shrader as Arbace.

Joining them are bass-baritone and third-year Adler Fellow Jongwon Han, who will portray the Voice of the Oracle, alongside a group of Adler Fellows making their company debuts: sopranos Georgiana Adams and Mary Hoskins as Cretan Women, and tenors Samuel White as the High Priest of Neptune and Trojan Man, and Olivier Zerouali as Trojan Man.

A livestream of the performance is scheduled for June 20, 2025, at 7:30 PM.

This production of “Idomeneo,” Mozart’s dramatic opera seria, promises to deliver a compelling blend of intricate vocal performances and dynamic staging under Lindy Hume’s visionary direction.
