Noseda Concludes 2024-25 Season with Beethoven’s Masterpiece

Between May 15 and 17, 2025, Gianandrea Noseda, Music Director of the National Symphony Orchestra, will lead a performance of Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis.

These concerts will serve as his final engagement with the orchestra for the 2024-25 season. Joining the ensemble will be the Washington Chorus, along with distinguished soloists: soprano Erika Grimaldi, bass-baritone Marko Mimica, mezzo-soprano Rihab Chaieb, and tenor Saimir Pirgu.

This event is one of three concert cycles featuring Noseda, which will also include performances of Shostakovich’s Fourth Symphony and Mahler’s Sixth Symphony.

The upcoming season kicks off in September with a performance by Yuja Wang. Highlights of the season will include Mahler’s Symphony No. 10, Il Trittico, and Voice of Nature: The Anthropocene.

Throughout the 2025-26 season, the National Symphony Orchestra will continue to explore a diverse repertoire, blending timeless classics with contemporary works. Noseda’s leadership will bring fresh interpretations to these performances, showcasing the orchestra’s versatility and commitment to musical excellence. Audiences can anticipate a series of guest appearances by renowned artists, enriching the season with unique collaborations.
