22 May, 2025

The Merola Opera Program is preparing to host its Merola Grand Finale on August 16, 2025.

This vibrant concert will spotlight all Merola artists, presenting a diverse repertoire that blends beloved classics with rare musical treasures. Kelly Kuo will lead the performance as conductor, while San Francisco native Elio Bucky takes the helm as director.

The event will feature the San Francisco Opera Center Orchestra and take place in the majestic setting of the War Memorial Opera House.

In addition to the Grand Finale, the Merola Opera Program will present “Le Comte Ory” and the “Schwabacher Summer Concert, It’s Complicated: Love & Opera.”

These performances highlight the program’s commitment to nurturing emerging talent, offering a platform for young artists to shine in both operatic masterpieces and innovative concert settings. “Le Comte Ory,” a comedic opera by Gioachino Rossini, will showcase the artists’ vocal and dramatic skills, while the Schwabacher Summer Concert will explore the intricate interplay of love and opera through a curated selection of arias and ensembles. Both events will further demonstrate the exceptional artistry fostered by the Merola Opera Program, continuing its legacy of excellence in the operatic world.
