Dijon Opera Unveils 2025-26 Vocal Season Lineup

The Opéra de Dijon has revealed its vocal performance schedule for the 2025-26 season, showcasing a rich array of musical events.

On October 9, 2025, the Orchestre National de France, led by conductor Cristian Măcelaru, will join forces with Joyce DiDonato for a program featuring compositions by Alma Mahler, Gustav Mahler, and Strauss.

Lea Desandre takes the lead in Händel’s Theodora on October 12, 2025, alongside Hugh Cutting, Véronique Gens, Laurence Kilsby, and Alex Rosen. The performance will be conducted by Thomas Dunford.

A double bill of Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana and Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci is set for November 5–9, 2025. Cavalleria Rusticana features Tadeusz Szlenkier, Svetlana Lifar, Aleksei Isaev, and Valentine Lemercier, while Pagliacci includes Galina Cheplakova, Tadeusz Szlenkier, Aleksei Isaev, Grégoire Mour, and Ramiro Maturana. Débora Waldman will conduct Silvia Paoli’s production.

On November 21 and 23, 2025, Felix Fourdrain’s Les contes de Perrault will be performed by Anaïs Merlin, Julie Mathevet, Camille Brault, Romain Dayez, Enguerrand de Hys, Lara Neumann, Hortense Venot, Éléonore Gagey, Richard Delestre, Philippe Brocard, Lucile Komitès, and Geoffroy Buffière, under the direction of Dylan Corlay in Valérie Lesort’s production.

Emőke Baráth and Carlo Vistoli will present Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater on November 28, 2025, with Emmanuelle Haïm leading the Orchestre Le Concert d’Astrée.

Bach’s Magnificat will be performed on December 11, 2025, by Perrine Devillers, Charlotte La Thrope, William Shelton, Hugo Hymas, and Victor Sicard, conducted by Vincent Dumestre with the Orchestre et Chœur Le Poème Harmonique.

On January 9, 2026, Michael Spyres and Mathieu Pordoy will perform works by Liszt, Berlioz, and Beethoven.

The Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, under Sir John Eliot Gardiner, will present pieces by Rameau and Debussy on January 15, 2026, with Anna Prohaska as the soloist.

Puccini’s La Bohème will run from March 11–17, 2026, featuring Angel Romero, Lucie Peyramaure, Yoann Dubruque, Florie Valiquette, Louis de Lavignère, and Adrien Mathonat. Marta Gardolińska will conduct David Geselson’s production.

On March 28, 2026, the Zurich Opera Orchestra, led by Gianandrea Noseda, will perform works by Mozart, Haydn, Prokofiev, Vivaldi, and Pergolesi, with Regula Mühlemann as the soloist.

Mozart’s Don Giovanni will feature Dario Solari, Alejandro Baliñas Vieites, Anna Marianne Croux, Marco Ciaponi, Sulkhan Jaiani, Karine Deshayes, Catherine Trottmann, and Frederic Mörth from April 19–25, 2026.

A recital by Lea Desandre and Thomas Dunford on May 28, 2026, will include music by Hahn, Lambert, Debussy, Barbara, Offenbach, and Charpentier.

On June 2, 2026, the Orchestre Victor Hugo Franche-Comté, conducted by Jean-François Verdier, will perform works by Alma Mahler and Holst, featuring soloist Anna Wa.

Finally, Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo will be performed on June 11, 2026, with Valerio Contaldo, Jennifer Courcier, Eva Zaïcik, Claire Lefilliâtre, Luigi De Donato, Cyril Auvity, Clément Debieuvre, and Vlad Crosman, conducted by Stéphane Fuget.
