The prestigious Opus Klassik Awards have revealed their 2025 recipients, honoring outstanding achievements in classical music across various categories.
In the category of Singer of the Year, Benjamin Bernheim earned recognition for his remarkable work on “Douce France,” while Emily D’Angelo was celebrated for her captivating performance in “Freezing.”
Joana Mallwitz secured the coveted Conductor of the Year title for her exceptional direction of The Kurt Weill Album. Meanwhile, Aigul Akhmetshina was named Young Artist of the Year for her debut album, Aigul, showcasing her extraordinary talent.
The Solo Vocal Recording award was shared by Pene Pati for his stirring rendition of “Nessun Dorma” and Golda Schultz for her vibrant performance in “Mozart, You Drive Me Crazy!”. The Tenebrae Choir claimed the Live Performance Recording prize for their breathtaking interpretation of Georg Friedrich Händel’s oratorio Messias HWV 56.
Additional honorees included the Opera Recording of the Year, awarded to Giovanna d’Arco, featuring the talents of Sophie Gordeladze, Marcus Bosch, and the Cappella Aquileia ensemble. The Choral Recording of the Year went to Max Reger: Melancholy (Vocal Works), performed by Paul van Nevel and the Huelgas Ensemble, recognized for their masterful execution.
These awards highlight the brilliance and diversity of talent within the classical music world, celebrating both established and emerging artists for their contributions in 2025.
